What made it different those times, he could not say. It just was. It was a feeling, inexplicable, but as real as anything else he had known. Having been that close to someone, knowing them so completely, it was as though the slightest change within her seemed to resonate deep inside him. She wasn't there. He could feel her physical presense, but that was all. He felt fear curl in the pit of his stomach, felt it snaking up to encircle his heart. Was she okay, he queried and heard her murmured response. But he caught the glint of tears before she closed her eyes and pulled him closer. Those were the times he had known what it meant to feel alone.

good stuff my friend :0)
hope you are having a great day!
Sunshine, don't ever underestimate your writing skills. These last several postings are nothing short of superb. If you feel so inclined, I would be very excited to see you continue. Hugs and kisses sweetest of sweet ones. :-)
A, have you been listening to anything else by Katie Melua? I downloaded The Closest Thing to Crazy and Lilac Wine. Neither song is as good as Just Like Heaven but her voice is just dreamy good.
Thanks Trace, hope you do too, x
Trée :-D We have a system going here. Everytime I throw out something straight off the top of my head, you compliment me on it and whenever I work at something, I hear nothing rofl. Maybe I should throw more out off the top of my head. :-D
Thanks, Sweetheart, for the thumbs up, much appreciated.
Haven't listened to anything not on the album and neither of those two songs you list are, however, as said, although none of the other songs comes anywhere near to Just like Heaven that voice drips from every line of every song.
Sunshine, after several listenings to The Closest Thing to Crazy, I would say you need to hear this song. There are a couple lyrics that she covers in a way that just carries you away. What a voice.
Oh Sunshine I find the same thing with my images and the story. The ones I worked the hardest on and felt most proud of seemed to receive little attention. Other images and chapters that I just banged out were recieved beyond any expectation I had for them. Go figure.
:-)
I'll make sure, I listen to that song. Shiver-inducing voice is what it is, just pure beauty.
Give a listen to Tristan Prettyman too. Especially "Love, Love, Love" and "Shy That Way" with Jason Mraz. I think you will like both of these. Tristan has been called a female Jack Johnson.
I really like 'Shy that way' :) - the other is good also, but esp. this one.
'Closest thing to crazy' - very lovely!
I like this one better with every listen.
"Feeling twenty-two, acting seventeen,
This is the nearest thing to crazy I have ever known . . ."
Feeling a little crazy Sunshine? :-)
Sure, and it feels great, though I'm sure you know that :)
Okay, here is more stuff you just must listen to:
Rob Thomas: iTunes original version of "Ever the Same" and "Bent"
The original versions are good too. I just like the more acoustic and raw iTune original versions.
Actually "Bent" is a demo version that I really like, not an iTune original.
Correction again, its a demo version on the iTunes original album. Whewwwww, I think that's it! LMAO
:-)
Not the right version, but I like 'Ever the same'
'Bent' shall have to wait, can't find a version of it just now.
These are just brilliant, Autumn. I don't know how you do it.
:-) Thanks, sweet K, x
Its just pick'n'mix.

Urgh, feel the same and my Monday starts in about 7 hours!

Any nice plans for tonight?
