As can be seen by the post at the end of the link above, crunching is such an effortless way to make a difference. All one needs is a computer, an internet connection and 5 minutes to spare for setup. From then on out, your computer will do all the work, meanwhile we may carry the thought with us that we are taking positive action.
No reason not to join
...and just one of the many reasons to.

Hey Teammate, you really are one of a kind. :-)
Hey back, sweetest heart. And my one and only teammate. :-D Hopefully that will change real soon and we shall have lots of company.
I'd never have known about these projects if it weren't for you, so thank you for the opportunity over these past almost 2 years. You are an amazing man, you really are. Bravo!
yes buddy..
i do believe that idle cpu cycle must be used for some noble cause.. like defeating cancer or aids..
:)
how are you moonlight?? :)
I'm good, thanks, Aseem. Hope all is well with you too and that it isn't all work and no play. :-)
Sounds like you are already crunching but if not, you would be a very welcome addition to Team Bravo. :-)
Happy Tuesday, xo
I believe I'm already a team member...unless they remove you for inactivity that is. Will hook up again as soon as I get a connection...since that will make a huge difference ;)
Hope yer good, missy :hugs:
heh.. its only work and no play.. or not even anything else for me these days.. :( but i am trying to enjoy!! :p
hugs, happy tuesday!
Never mind, Aseem, you couldn't be dull even if you tried to. :-) And at least you are enjoying (or "trying to":) work. Do you have holidays coming up?
Christa, they don't remove you for inactivity, but Team Andrax is no longer active and so you shall need to find a new team in order to keep crunching. Once you get back online, sneak a peak at the website address given and come join us if it appeals. The poppet and I are good company, promise. :-D
I'm good, thanks. :-) Hope you are doing well too. Love and hugs, x
Thanks to Trée once again being the one who found these photographs and sharing them via his blog.
Wow i'm speachless. Autumn, you have a big heart :)
Well, as said, Trée introduced me to both crunching and to Derek and his family. Incredibly moving set of photos, was that not? :-)
that pic is enough to bring tears to my eyes. i want to join and will from home soon, just left tree a comment.
thanks for checking on me, i am doing good and have a new post.
any news from Meg?
That's fantastic news, Jodes! Look forward to having you join us. :-)
Glad to hear you are doing well. Just got home from shopping, the absolute most tiring pasttime ever invented (at least when it comes to clothes shopping), I feel like I could sleep for a week and the coffee passing my lips at the moment is the most enjoyable I've had in weeks. :-D At least now it's all done, M's school summergear has been bought and we won't have to venture out again until it's time for winter coats and boots. What a relief!
No word from Meg, just emailed her again yesterday to say hey etc, so perhaps she may be in touch soon. I'll make sure to let you know how she is doing, and let her know too next time that you were asking after her.
Have a great rest of the day, and as said, cannot wait to officially welcome you to Team Bravo.
Hugs, x
hi, at home now - but too tired to sit here and download something but will soon after i tell the hubby all about it.
No rush, Jodes, we'll still be here tomorrow. :-) Have a nice, relaxing evening, you sure do deserve it. xo
Hi Autumn - looking forward to your get-together with Jillie? I wish we were there :-D We had so much fun last time.
Any idea if you might make it to Florence, now that you already saw your niece? We shall be there on June 1 and 2, the second (2nd) being the best and most hopeful night to share dinner. Hope so!
Morning Sweetest. Good news and not so good news to report. Good news is Team Bravo is now up to four teammates. Every work unit returned helps the scientists trying to find answers to these diseases that plague our society. I hope soon, more will join the effort.
The not so good news: My Aunt Carol has decided to have brain surgery after all. She had originally said no, but yesterday the doctors told her the tumor in her brain was growing. It is in the area of her brain that controls speech. If she survives the surgery, which we expect her to do, the doctors have told her she will probably never speak again. Carol is only in her fifties. I would post a picture of her, and I might later, but with all that is happening at the moment, I think it would only make me cry. More news to report, but I'll wait till you wake to report. When it rains it pours. May the showers rain down upon me now, while I am strong, because if I wasn't, I'm not sure I could withstand the onslaught.
Let me say again, I appreciate more than you will ever know your dedication to this cause, to helping support the research that is necessary if we are going to make progress. Thanks for installing the device on both your computers. I know it only took a couple minutes to do and I know the computers do all the work, but still, it took a kind and generous and wonderful soul to take that action, to do, to act, to put those idle cpu cycles to use. And when you were called, when you were asked, you didn't hesitate, you didn't question, you acted.
I will tell Carol you did so. I will tell her that somewhere in England is a soul that cares, not with words or thoughts, although those are certainly there, but with action, with intention, with love. And I will show her your sketches, so she can see, see you, my dearest sweetest one. She might not be able to thank you in voice, but I know Carol will get teary eyed. And so we crunch and we love and we push on no matter the obstacles in our way.
I love you.
Coffee on in a wee bit. Bought fresh today as a matter of fact. Think I might need some myself.
Let it rain!
Tears in my eyes and flowing down my cheeks reading this comment, sweetest heart. I've been so touched by your words on your aunt before, about what a brave and beautiful soul she is, and I'm so saddened that she and those that surround her have been forced to deal with the suffering caused by her illness. Wish I could enfold you, all of you, in my arms, though I know that would neither make any difference or offer much comfort, but it's what I feel in my heart, the need to offer something, the wish that somehow I could take the sting away. Sending thoughts and virtual hugs, wish I could do more.
But it does highlight, as you wrote, that crunching is one thing that we can do, one positive action that we can take, and that just might make a real difference at some point in the future. Hope too that those who aren't, will.
Love to you, sweetest heart, though I can't take your sadness away, know I feel it with you.
I didn't see my niece, Terry, was my sister-in-law that came to visit, although with a little luck the both of them should be back here soon. Not sure yet regarding the end of the month, but I will let you know soon as I can.
Very much looking forward to Jillie and R coming over, only two weeks to go now, so it's getting close. :-)
Did you read the post and see the series of photographs? Breaks my heart every time I view them and though it is such a small thing to allow our computers to run this program, it is, as I wrote in the above-comment, an action we are easily able to take. If you are interested, or indeed anyone who reads this post and the subsequent messages, in joining, it takes just a couple of minutes to download and join. Would be thrilled to see some numbers coming in, some new members, from this post. :-)
Happy days ahead - I'll be in touch regarding Florence soon as possible.
Afternoon Sweetest. Recruited another member to Team Bravo this morning. JamieB is mate #5. Her grandfather has cancer and they have called in hospice--he probably won't make it through the weekend. As soon as I told her about what we did, she joined immediately. Jamie had never heard of distributed computing before, so we got ourselves a crunching virgin. I'll be gentle. :-D
:-D
Hey you.
Glad indeed to have another teammate, just wish the circumstances surrounding weren't quite so dire. You're steaming ahead in the recruiting section too, just as well, we are all on the same team. :-D
Sending love, x
Evening Sweetest. Recruited mate #6, ThunderBob, aka Bobby Bradley, owner of All-4-Fun. We're growing! :-)
Woohoo - well done you! Happy, happy news - we just may hit 10 sooner than expected. :-D
Hey Sleepyhead, Poppet's been working. Mate #7, Karen, has joined Bravo. That's three today. One in the morning, one in the afternoon, and one tonight!, said Poppet, feeling quite proud of himself. ROFLMAO!
Coffee ready in just a bit. See you soon my love. :-)
Anyone reading this blog and this message is welcomed to join us on Team Bravo as we use our computers to crunch data that helps scientists find cures from everything from AIDS to Cancer. Please consider joining us. It takes less than five minutes to install the device and join our team. I've got more than 20 years of cpu time contributed with zero problems. Follow the link on this post for the links to join. Hope to see some new mates soon.
Peace
:-D So you should be, not just anyone can come through 3 times in one day, though for some reason, ;-), I wouldn't be at all surprised if you were able to beat that record.
Seriously, that is WONDERFUL! Bless her sweet heart. :-)
Courtney has joined Bravo as mate #8. Working on the weekend. The Poppet never tires, but then you already knew that. :-D
Yes, I did, and now I know it better. :-D That's fan*tastic news, well done you! And welcome to mate number eight, I get a warm feelings everytime you pull one out of the hat, so don't stop. Hoping to boast my first recruit soon. :-D
WUT A PIC!
Keshi.
More at the end of the link under the photograph.
Happy Thursday, Kesh. :-)
