LMAO, both of us giggling away here, that was bad, but fun! :-D
Happy Birthday, xo
My Dearest Sweetest One, not that I needed another reason to love you any more, but the audio with you and M was nothing less than rogesque smile inducing and happy tear producing. As I think anyone who has ever met you knows, you are special, one of a kind, and those, my dear most spectacular one, are not just words, but more than two years of observation, of experience. Your attitude, always seeing the bright side, always looking toward a solution, always believing the best in others, as much as I wish was otherwise, is truly a rare quality--and you have it in spades. To use a cliche, you are in a class by yourself. Now its back to the audio to hear that lovely voice again, one I've been missing more than you know. :-)
Oh, and tell M I think Cotton Baby is as wonderful as she is bright and brilliant. :-)
Sunshine, I just saw this list from Stefan Sagmeister and thought it was worth sharing.
How to be Happy:
Complaining is silly. Either act or forget.
Thinking life will be better in the future is stupid. I have to live now.
Being not truthful works against me.
Helping other people helps me.
Organizing a charity group is surprisingly easy.
Everything I do always comes back to me.
Drugs feel great in the beginning and become a drag later on.
Over time I get used to everything and start taking if for granted.
Money does not make me happy.
Traveling alone is helpful for a new perspective on life.
Assuming is stifling.
Keeping a diary supports my personal development.
Trying to look good limits my life.
Worrying solves nothing.
Material luxuries are best enjoyed in small doses.
Having guts always works out for me.
By the way, I'm still beaming from that audio!
Poppy :-)
Have to head out for a little bit and will therefore respond more later, but I just wanted to say how typical it is of you to give and give and give. Such an incredibly sweet message! - more on that and the quotes later. Big love and birthday hugs, more, :-), x
awwwwww that's so cute!!
:D
Happy Birthday Tree! you know, I was just thinking a moment ago, if you were a Gemini, your birthday must be around the corner. Sure enough, it is!
May God bless you always :)
WOO HOO! Happy b-day Tree! Wishing you a joyous one!
What a great message, A! Loved hearing your voice!! :-)
Thanks for sharing, Poppet, definitely worth reading. What I like about it especially is that he is not trying per say to be particularly smart, these are just things that in truth most of us realize (in time) to be true, things he too has learnt and observed.
I got an email yesterday that spoke of something else that we might know, but that seeing written down in such a fashion may still catch us by surprise. It had to do with remembering all the ways in which we are fortunate.
Some examples of what these ways included were;
If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare change in a dish, you are among the top 8% of the world's wealthy.
If you get this on your own computer, you are part of the 1% in the world who has that opportunity.
If you woke up this morning with more health than illness, you are more blessed than the many who will not even survive this day.
If you have never experienced the fear in battle, the loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture, or the pangs of starvation. you are ahead of 700 million people in the world.
If you can attend a place of worship without the fear of harassment, arrest, torture or death, you are envied by, and more blessed than three billion people in the world.
And if you can read this message, you are more blessed than over two billion people in the world who cannot read at all.
Whenever I read the familar statement that money does not make a person happy, I cannot help but think of an interview I saw once of Arnold Schwarzneggar, where he stated that this was very true, he had been just as happy, he said, when he had 48 million as when he had 50 million. :-D
Once again, I hardly know how to respond to such sweetness (sorry ;-)). Firstly, glad the audio evoked a smile, :-D, that was the reaction hoped for of course, that this would be one reason today. Secondly, all I can do is smile at your words. Smile because you kindly credit me with qualities that are such a great part of the reason people in the blogesphere (myself included), as in life I'm sure, are drawn to you. You know where you golfballs so to speak are, you realize the fleeting nature of the here and now and thus seldom if ever do you forget the many things for which you can be thankful. Most of all, this message showcases that you are a giver, that your generosity of heart, your essential sweetness :-), is limitless, showing itself in the form of a willingness to work to understand even those who do you harm.
Marshmellow comments always make me incapable of adequate response, so simply thank you for the kind words. :-)
J, I always hear your voice so clearly, it wasn't until you pointed out the obvious that I realized we've never actually spoken audibly. :-)
Meg and J, thanks for the warm wishes. :-)
Sunshine, the respect is mutual. :-)
Oh dear heveans I missed it!! I'm popping right over!!
Coffee ready soon my dear Sweetest. You are the most sincere woman I think I have ever known. And I love you to absolute pieces for being real, for being you, for letting me be me. I think I will love you till the COWs come home. ROFLMFAO!
LMFAO2! Let's hope they never come home then. :-D
You're an easy one to love, sweetheart, there are no big surprises - and that's a good thing. :-) I had a distinct impression of you from those initial visits, like one of your beautiful sketches the lines were very clear, and for two years, you've been adding colour, depth and texture. The same picture, just becoming more and more complete. What's not to love, :-), put me down for the homecoming thing too.
Oh, and please excuse me for the late reply and for missing coffee, the real me slept until MIDDAY! ROFL
Linny, you were just fashionably late, :-), main thing is you came (went).
Hope you have a fabulous weekend, xo
You must be very thirsty after all the unpacking. I have tea ready when you are. Maybe a foot massage too, if you've been good, or maybe I should say, if you plan to be good. :-D
Ready for my tea now, though I must tell you, I'm in a naughty mood today, but then just maybe that's what you meant. :-D
That was utterly delightful and absolutely adorable. Listening to that made me smile, imagining Trée's face when he heard this made me smile even more. :-)
Makes me blush somewhat and laugh a lot to listen to it, but delight too that it made you guys, and Trée, smile. :-)
Always a great pleasure to see you stop by, Oliviah, hope you're having a wonderful weekend, xo
It was. :-)
Aw man I wish we had a fast enough connection to hear this! You guys, as always, are the best of what keeps me on the web. Happy belated birthday Trée!
Thank you Evenstar. Since I've listened to the audio about a million times now let me give you the executive summary: It is the most fan-f*ing-tastic birthday serenade I've ever gotten--bar none! Say hello to Bean for me. By the way, your new site just blows me away. Want to design a new one for me? :-D
:-D
Hey Evenstar, so nice to see your name in the box, confirming a little more that two of my favourite bloggers really are back with us. Wooooohooooo! :-)
awww nice one girl!
Isnt he a HOTTER? ;-)
Keshi.
Pulse-racingly so. :-D
I love you guys!
Thanks for the welcome Autumn :) and Trée, if you want a new skin for DT, email us and let us know what you envisage hey?
Sighed. I missed the party on Friday. How was it?
Everyone got pissed as farts, then naked, and that's the last thing I remember. :-D
Evenstar, xo
Happy Tuesday, love and hugs to you both.
Just kidding, Saff, the desert went down well, we had a couple of glasses of champers, toasted our friend's health and happiness and then did the birthday boogie. :-)
As did the dessert. :-D
OMG...that is just way too cool what a great birthday wish. I will have to go and wish tree a belated happy birthday...
