I didn't realize that you still had those "Dr. Who" phone boxes still.
Likewise for flooding; we never hear of flooding!

Wow, you have no idea how much we need rain. All that grass I planted--dead. I just couldn't water it enough to keep it alive.

What a shame, and after all the work you put in. Pointless now for your grass, but hoping you get a few showers.

Goatman, they are steadily being replaced and eventually they will be very far and few between. It's not so long since the last of the old style buses stopped running, but we still see these regularly, they have become for example rentable for wedding parties to be taken from one venue to the next. As for flooding, it is not at all uncommon and it is only set to get worse this year, as the new forecast for the summer replaces 'the longest and hottest since 1912' with 'the 19th of July, will be our one day of summer'. Bully to all those who booked their holidays at home this year. Thanks for stopping by, have a great weekend. :-)

Who'd have thought it hey! It's having to put up with such weather that puts the Great in Great Britain though isn't it Autumn Storm?!

Autumn Storm said...

It does that. :-) I was reading a spread about London the other day, how throughout the capitol and the day we had just about every kind of weather one can think of. There were pictures of glorious sunshine, of lighting, of heavy downpour, strong winds and the one to beat them all was a photograph of a young mother pushing a buggy through what looked like 3 inches of snow but was in fact a layer of hail. Wanna come to the Caribbean with me? :-)

Good luck today. Missing you tons. :-)

Glad you made it through the soggy weather... is the rain there stopped yet? We could use a bit of rain to cool things off a bit... 107 degrees just on Thursday.

Hell yes but you know we'd probably get sick of that after a while wouldn't we?

I got caught in some nasty rainstorms when I visited. Actually, I got trapped under a bridge once. LOL

ok i cannot even repeat what i said when i saw that pic!! it was something like holy f***. I have a potty brain - but not potty mouth!! at least i try!! what the heck!! is that for real - where is it?

My goodness, this is really bad flood.
My guess is that sometimes, it's not all the rain's fault. City planners have to take some flak for the drainage system as well.

Just wanted to stop by and say Hello.

Hello Autumn and happy Friday to you! I've been meaning to email...I promise on Sat!!! Trying to get back into the groove of working again..ugh!

xoxo...miss you and hugs and kiss to you and the precious M

Thank you, Poppet, all went well. Except of course for the delay by my internet service providers, but all's well that ends well. :-) Missed you tons, hope you've been doing well. xo

Terry, we get bursts of sunshine every now and then, but generally it's wet. Be nice if we could swap for a couple of days. :-)

Simon, for me at least, it'd be a long time coming. :-) I should be quite happy in the shade of the palm trees with the warm waters lapping at my feet.

Kesh, I like the rain, it's just that it'd be nice to have a little summer before rainy autumn gets here. Never seen roo rain, must one day. :-D

And you were here during last year's glorious summer, Linny, you picked the right one. Sounds like there is a lot more to the story about the bridge...(?) :)

Hey Jodes. Do not recall where that picture was from, but there were several areas that looked like this last week of which Hull was one. Lots of property damage, people unable to move back into their homes etc. Our new prime minister has had quite a first week.

Saff, without a doubt. Hope you've been having a great week. Not sure I will catch up with everyone before tomorrow - mine's been busy.

Virgil, I don't know whether to hug you or slap you silly. ;-) Thanks for stopping by. Hope all is well. Take care, xo

Me too, Jillie, we never would have been able to go for that walk along the embankment or have been able to sit outside. April and May were so much nicer than June was or July has been thus far. You too picked a better time. Happy Friday to you too, and I do believe it is my turn to email. :-D Love and hugs to you both too, xo

Hi Autumn - have you moved? Just a quick hello to your parents - and the other cuties about the place (hi M and K)

Happy weekend at last... hurray!

Autumn Storm said...

Hey Terry, yes, moved last weekend, and reminiscent of last November, there were some delays on getting my internet set-up, so have been offline for a week. Thank goodness it's the weekend, yes, for it gives me better chance to catch up quickly. :-) I'll pass on the heys if you pass some over your way too. Terry, has baby bear changed her telephone number?

Oliviah said...

Wow, what a lot of water. We had about 4 days straight of rain last week and ahh...it was wonderful. But I wouldn't want the amount of rain in that picture, :O

xox

Autumn Storm said...

Just a tad too much, agreed. :-D

My friends live near Oxford and luckily they weren't hit by the floods. It is such a shame to see all the destruction.

Autumn Storm said...

It is, and Oxford is one of the worst hit areas, so your friends have indeed been fortunate. The weather seems to be changing for the better now though, so with a little luck at least we will have seen the worst of it.
