You have nothing to do and nowhere to be, and the thought fills you with the endless promise that the here and now has to offer. You decide to take a walk along the river. As you look out there upon it has a glistening sheen across it making it look like a bed of twinkling diamonds. High in the sky, the sun sits, alone in a vastness of untainted blue. The trees along the walkway are lush and green, flowers in every colour are in full bloom and you can hear bees buzzing contentedly around them. The air smells of happiness and you take deep, admiring breaths as you stroll along with a smile of satisfaction. You feel alive in every sense of the word, sure that everyone must be able to tell just how great you feel. Just then, someone walking in the other direction, stops in their tracks and utters an audible 'Wow!' and laughter bubbles from deep within at how spot-on your thoughts were. 'You look amazing!', he/she continues looking just like George Clooney or Charlize Theron depending on whom you would most like to see,
'wherever did you get that shirt?!'

How do we do that?! I hear you shout excitedly from across the world into the flickering screens of your molecule crunching machines!
By entering the first official Team Bravo competition, that's how!
The objective is simple. Team mates are invited to recruit as many new members as possible over a restricted period of time. The mate with the most recruits will win the coveted prize.
The regulations are as follows;
- contestants must be verified Team Bravo members to enter. Members of the public wishing to enter the contest can do so at any time during however no special consideration will be taken for late starters. To become a team member, see sidebar for the link entitled 'What is Team Bravo?' New members can tally themselves as their first recruit.
- the contest will run for two weeks starting at 12.00 UTC on the 4th of August 2007 and run until 12.00 UTC August 18th 2007. Winner(s) will be announced as soon as the results have been counted and verified by the Team Captain. (For individual timezones, go to http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/converter.html)
- Contestants must recruit a minimum of two new mates to qualify.

Simpn, Windsor was lovely, we were there when the sun began to set, and it made the river look like gold. :-) Didn't go to the fair, but we (not I) did go on the Ferris Wheel, so tall it must come second in this country only to the Eye.

As for the churches, there have been some beautiful buildings amongst, those posts have as much or more 'architectural overtones' than they do religious. Trying to predict what people might like to read is too confusing, I think, looking around at the blogs I read, it doesn't always seem 'right', some blogs that I read that are truly unique and amazing have very few readers. Just look at mine, perfect example, when I actually wrote posts, I got fewer comments than I do now that I don't. Please yourself in other words. :-)

Not very close really...I work in a museum! The building has been pictured quite a few times for example in the side bar of the Photblog TAKE FIVE FRIDAY number one!
It is the former Birkenhead Town Hall and we are the 'landlords' for the Registry Office for B,M & D!
It's all the same local authority.
I do get to write the signs and leaflets and labels and take photographs (yippee!) as well as setting up exhibitions and functions and 1001 other things.
I don't think I'll be able to see Jo until the weekend, as I said it's complicated but we need her to be crunching the numbers don't we!
I'm doing a sunset lot tonight but I won't be on the webcam I'll be just off it tonight, there's quite lot of cloud building up as we speak so it could be a very good one but if there's too much it won't! Oh and I've just sold 3 of 'our' sunset pics!! Not only that through a friend of a blog friend they are going to snail mail me the publication in September when it's published!!

Recruiting takes effort, Simon (or the promise of modeling;) and so for you to be doing so well and with such enthusiasm, well, it gladdens my heart on a personal level for the very fact that I know each recruit that you secure means work done on the various projects will be that bit speedier and so it is no little thing that you are doing, Simon, but making a real difference.
And just think, if you can recruit 5 members in 2 weeks, how many you could recruit in a year! ;-D

Your rain showed up down here, a little of it anyway, but it's a novelty now again so we kissed and made up. The way things were looking, we weren't guaranteed any summer at all and so these last two weeks were so welcome and have exceeded expectation that most might agree we've been very fortunate.

Simon, the trip was smooth (except for quite a bump as we landed:) and pleasant. What amazes me is that I forget each time just for how long one has to travel to make a short flight (1hour5mins). I was up at 4, though admittedly I did sit myself here at 5 for an hour plus LOL, and didn't make it to where I was going until 10 hours later. But here I am, in the sunshine, in the place that has always been 'home' (hometown of my grandparents and myself on occasion through the years, M is born here also) and it's nice, to understate. :-) Have a wonderful Friday and weekend, I'll be in periodically, not least when the comp closes, may be a little late though - staying in other people's homes and all that. Oooh, by the way, great big apologies, meant to email you about this (and haven't checked yet today so disregard if it no longer applies), the rules state new members must have returned their first result for Bravo by the close of the competition in order to count at least towards winning the competition, Tina is of course #1, hopefully within the next 24 and some hours, there will be a second from one of the other members, so that offically you will have fulfilled the minimum requirements.
:-D What's another word for inspirational...annoying? LOL
In any case, Simon, I want to see the modeling too, so at the very least we see what the status update around the early hours of Sunday tell us. :-D

Thanks for that info - I have always been aware of that and how irritating would it be if after all the work that I've done, almost selling my soul, I didn't qualify! Have E mailed Trée with a few of the probs and hopefully at least one will have returned results!
It's not just for the competition, my worry is that WCG make it a bit awkward one way and another and maybe we should look at the instructions that we give people. Oh not a worry to you until you get back cos it was in the E to Trée as well!!
Meanwhile I'm dead jealous of the time you are having....but you deserve it so go and enjoy!!

This is a quiet type holiday, always is when one visits family, i.e. I'll be spending most of my time in this small village. Went to a concert last night though, had an amazing time, bought a hat (official merchandise of the artist), had a little too much beer, danced the night away, was excellent. :-)

Hi SAS, I totally agree with you, I don't need to get in to the technical side, it was simple enough for me, though I spent an hour last night on the phone to Tim, Dj Wilko! to no avail. He's crunching away but nothing for team Bravo! He was going to E mail Tree (sorry I know no accent!)
THere may be something wrong somewhere but its so annoying that it may not even be our fault!!

Simon, there are only three things it could be.
1. Members have registered and downloaded the agent, but haven't joined the team.
2. Members have joined the team but haven't actually downloaded the agent and therefore aren't crunching
or 3. Members changed their name during registration so that the name that appears on their box when they double click their WCG icon is not the same name as they are registered under for the team. This can be changed in profile settings.
In other words, all very simple to solve, two caused by not knowing there were two steps to complete, the other is just not realizing names need to match.
Hope you manage to explain those things and find out which is the problem. First step, check they have the icon in their clock panel. If they don't, then they haven't downloaded the agent, and given neither Tim or Stuey have a device registered, this should be what needs to be done in their cases. I believe Trée told you that Josie's computer is does not have the capacity needed to work on current projects - same is true for my older one, and of course all is well with Tina.
I'm going to have to check the stats in the morning, Simon, will be too late for me wait up tonight. Talk to you tomorrow, have a good night. :-)

Simon, our captian, being the sweetheart that he is thinks I should sit on that fat lady for a while (there's a thought:). Pencil this in: Thursday 23rd 1pm GMT. During this time, if another or all of the new members that you recruited during the competition returns their first results, they shall stand along side Tina in your final count. In other words, if Tim or one of the others has returned a result by this date and time, the T-shirt is yours. :-) More than t-shirts and competitions, it would be heartwarming to see results being returned for the WCG and knowing that there is now a whole lotta extra crunching going on, more potential to help, thanks to your efforts.

Simon, anyone who is currently crunching and returning results can join our team with two clicks. If you go to DT and look on my sidebar for the links concerning Bravo, you will see the last link says Step Two: Join Team Bravo. If they click on that link it will take them to our team page and there is a button there that says "join this team." If they click on that button, they join Bravo under the name of the crunching agent and show up on the roster under that name and all points from the joining forward show up on the Bravo roster. In other words, if Tim is returning results but just not to Bravo, he can follow the above. The same for Jules or anyone else. People on other teams "guest crunch" for other teams all the time doing this. Now, if the mates in question are not returning results, then that is a whole other issue. Check with Tim. Ask him if is info box shows a point total. If it does, have him follow the above. And hurry, that fat lady won't keep quiet forever. :-D
Simon, thanks for all your hard work in recruiting. Even though the contest is over, keep your eyes out for anyone who might like to join a cause like ours. I've recruited over 40 mates to this team and my old team. Some were easy, some were hard and took time and many, to this day, haven't seen the light. The diseases we are fighting, however, don't holiday. So we do what we can with all that we have. Thanks for being such a positive part of Bravo.
